our top priority at Linux Central. If you need to return an item
for replacement or for a refund, please find the appropriate
category below, then simply follow the instructions for a
prompt response.
Please Note: All returns to Linux Central require a Returned
Merchandise Authorization Number (RMA). Any merchandise
returned without an RMA number will be refused and sent back
to the sender, NO EXCEPTIONS. There is a 15% restocking fee
assessed on all returned products.
BOOKS
We accept returns of books within 30 days of purchase, providing
they are in a resellable condition. Books which contain software in
electronic media (CD-ROM, floppy, etc.) are not returnable.

SOFTWARE
We accept returns of un-opened software within 30 days of
purchase. Unfortunately we cannot accept opened, non-defective
merchandise for credit or exchange. (Please see "Obtaining an
RMA" below.)
LINUX CENTRAL GPL CD-ROMS
We do not warrant or guarantee the software on these CD's. We
only guarantee the media. We accept returns of Linux Central
GPL CD-ROMS within 30 days on defective media only. (Please
see "Obtaining an RMA" below.)
GEAR
We accept returns of Linux Gear within 30 days of purchase.
Items must not be used or worn, and must be in resellable
condition. (Please see "Obtaining an RMA" below.)
HARDWARE
Please follow all instructions for installation found in the user
manual included with your hardware. If you are continuing to
have problems installing your hardware, or need any technical
assistance, please contact the manufacturer.
If your hardware is defective, you must receive your refund or
replacement from the manufacturer. WE DO NOT ACCEPT ANY
OPENED HARDWARE FOR RETURN. If your hardware is
unopened, please see "Obtaining an RMA" below."
There is a 15% restocking fee assessed on all returns.
OBTAINING AN RMA
Please obtain an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization)
number by simply e-mailing
service@linuxcentral.com.
When sending this e-mail, please be sure to include your
original order number, the title, and catalog number of the
item you wish to return, and the reason for the return.
SENDING THE ITEM BACK TO US
Now that you have your RMA number, please pack the item
safely and securely and write the RMA number on the outside
of the package to ensure the proper return process. We do
recommend insured shipping. Please allow 4-6 weeks for the
credit to appear on your charge card statement. There is a 15%
restocking fee and all shipping charges are your responsibility.
SHIPPING CHARGES
Shipping costs are non-refundable. NO EXCEPTIONS.
UNDELIVERED SHIPMENTS
We strongly encourage choosing UPS as your carrier.
UPS provides an excellent trackable service.
A lost package can be deemed so much quicker through UPS.
If a United States Postal Service shipment is suspected to be lost,
there is a waiting period of 30 days on domestic orders and
60 days on international orders from the time of shipment.
